Bereavement Support Program

Our Philosophy

Grief and loss are natural, inevitable occurrences in life. Death or divorce, a move to a new area, even an “empty nest” can represent loss and trigger the emotions of grief. The Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice Team is here to assist area residents experiencing loss or grief.

We live in such an active world, forever being told to keep busy, and move forward. However, often what is called for is slowing down, taking time to remember, and sharing with others what a loved one has meant to you. In some cases, the task of rebuilding life without someone who has been very close can require a great deal of thought and energy.

Individual and group support can be a vital resource in re-formulating our sense of ourselves and the world enabling us to slowly gain the strength we need to re-enter life on our term, terms that are shaped but not diminished by the experience of death.

Our Services

For those who have experienced the death of someone who was cared for the by Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice, we offer 13 months of follow-up bereavement support. This includes visits and phone contact, frequent mailings and educational material.
